ROOTED IN SCIENCE

You've trained everything—except the one thing that fuels it all.

BUILT FOR ATHLETES

You've trained your body. You've trained your mind.

But the breath—the system that deeply fuels both—has been left behind. Most athletes don't know they have amateur breathing: mouth breathing, high breath rates, shallow, chaotic rhythms. It shows up as anxiety, burnout, poor recovery, foggy focus, mental instability, and inconsistent performance.

Under pressure, breathing is often the first thing to go—and the last thing athletes think to train. And if you're not training it, you're at the mercy of it.

Elite Breathing is the first app built to change that. Rooted in science, built for athletes, and designed to make breath health a competitive edge.

THE REAL PROBLEM

Your breath reveals the truth about your mind and body

And no one's talking about it. Athletes are told to grind harder, push through, and bounce back fast. But few are checking the system that powers it all: the breath.

These aren't quirks. They're red flags.

And they cost you more than you realize.

Movement breaks down

Recovery lags

Energy crashes

Focus scatters

Stress spirals

Breathing too quickly and shallowly creates a state of chronic stress, increasing anxiety and reducing oxygen efficiency. Elite athletes maintain controlled breathing even under pressure.

Breathing through your mouth bypasses the natural filtering and humidifying functions of the nose, leading to reduced oxygen uptake, poorer sleep quality, and increased susceptibility to respiratory issues—all factors that compromise athletic performance.

Relying on chest muscles instead of your diaphragm limits lung capacity, increases tension in the neck and shoulders, and creates inefficient oxygen exchange—a major hindrance for athletes requiring optimal energy and recovery.

A weak or improperly functioning diaphragm—your primary breathing muscle—compromises core stability, power generation, and endurance. Elite athletes train this muscle as intentionally as any other in their performance arsenal.

Getting winded when it matters most isn't just about fitness—it's often about breathing inefficiency. Athletes with trained breathing patterns maintain composure and performance quality even in high-pressure, high-exertion situations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Start simple. Take the Breath Assessment. It gives you a clear snapshot of how your breathing looks in everyday life, not just during workouts or stress. Pick one training track. You’ll get a starting point that matches your results, so you’re not guessing. Practice a little and often. Small sessions done with consistency beat big bursts done once in a while. If you do one thing today, do the assessment. That’s your first win.

Most people never get taught how to have healthy breathing habits. Your breath may need training if you notice things like: you breathe through your mouth a lot, even at rest; you frequently sigh, yawn, or "need a deep breath"; your breathing feels high in the chest, tight, or noisy; stress hits fast and takes too long to recover; sleep feels light, restless, or you wake up tired or with a dry mouth; exercise wipes you out more than it should; you feel tension in your neck, shoulders, jaw, or belly. You don’t need to have a big issue to benefit. If your breathing feels effortful, rigid, or reactive, training helps.

Not at all. Athletes were my inspiration because I was one, but this is for everyone. Elite Breathing is for anyone who wants more calm during stress, more energy across the day, better sleep, less tension in the body, stronger focus and emotional control, and more ease during movement, talking, working, or parenting.

For most people, yes, especially when you start with the basics and keep it easy. That said, some people need extra care or medical guidance first, including anyone with serious heart or lung conditions, uncontrolled high blood pressure, a history of panic attacks that feel intense or frequent, pregnancy, or any condition where breath restriction or breath holds are not advised. If that’s you, you can still train, but the approach should be more tailored. When in doubt, check with your medical provider, keep your training gentle, and reach out to Coach Joe for more support.

Perfect. Skepticism means you’re thinking. Elite Breathing isn’t about hype or believing in anything. It’s about noticing cause and effect. The app is about skill-building with the breath so you can experience what healthy breathing is. You don’t have to buy in 100%. Just test it. Let your body and mind be the proof.
